Technology Evaluation
Often associated with a Strategic Planning process, deciding on the
right technology and the right vendor for a company is crucial to
long-term success. Pick the right vendor and a company's long term ROI can
be excellent. Pick the wrong vendor and ROI plummets. Core functionality
may be lacking and costs both initial and ongoing can be enormous. Pick
the wrong vendor and they may not even exist in five years. Logos Delta
can be a key component in a company's technology evaluation. It looks at
many factors for a software or hardware vendor
- Creation of a weighted functionality map between client needs and
vendor offerings

client ROI

- Analyze initial and ongoing support costs
- Review underlying vendor technologies
- Coding languages

- Openness of Software -- API's, links
- Evaluate ability of vendor's to implement and support the client at
the client location
- Availability and qualifications of vendor specialists
- Nearest vendor physical location
- Does vendor have a remote diagnostic facility?
- Past track record with other clients
- Vendor stability
- Evaluate vendor's history of improving product offerings
- Does vendor keep current with industry improvements
- How are upgrades propagated to clients?
- How seamless are the upgrades?
| Project: A larger corporation had determined that they needed a modern Customer Relation Management -- CRM system to help alleviate their customer service problems. Logos was retained to evaluate and recommend a best of class CRM vendor. After evaluating the Client’s needs, interface requirements and call levels, a less expensive, but more open system was recommended. The Client continued to evolve their requirements after implementation of the original project and was extremely pleased with the ability of the system to accommodate their changing needs. |
| Project: A medium sized Software development company retained Logos to evaluate and recommend future Operating and DBMS systems as well as Client feature additions. After an analysis of the Client needs, the Client software support abilities and the industry trends, Logos made a series of recommendations. The recommendations were not what the Software Company expected, but after discussions were accepted. Five years later, the Company is profitable and growing in an era where many software companies have failed.
